Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Zru & Hudnu mobile app (the “App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the App and this website. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected] or through our support page.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account we collect your email address and name. If you choose Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive the identifier the provider gives us and, if you allow it, your name and email address (Apple may provide a relay address). We use this only to create and secure your account.
Profile and nutrition data you provide
To personalise your targets and diary, you may provide details such as your age, biological sex, height, weight, goals, and activity level, as well as the foods, meals, recipes, and portions you log and the resulting calorie and macronutrient (protein, fat, carbohydrate) totals. This information is stored in your account so the App can work across your sessions and devices.
Photos you submit
If you photograph a nutrition label or a meal, the image is processed to read the nutrition information and add it to your diary. If you send a bug report or feedback, any screenshots or media you attach are stored with that report. Photos are used only to provide these features.
Location data
The App has an optional walking feature: a map with daily rewards you collect by walking to them, and a walk recorder that draws your route. Location is used only when you choose to use these features; the rest of the App works without it.
- Precise location (GPS) is read while the rewards map is open, to show your position, place rewards within walking distance, and detect when you reach one.
- Background location is used only while you are recording a walk that you started yourself, so the route keeps being recorded when the screen is locked or the App is in the background. A persistent notification (Android) or the system location indicator (iOS) is shown for the whole recording, and it stops when you end the walk. We do not track your location in the background at any other time.
- Approximate location from your IP address may be used to centre the map when you have not granted location access.
Recorded walks (route points, distance, duration, elevation) and the rewards you collect are stored in your account so your history is available across devices. To place rewards on real streets and paths, the App sends the approximate map centre to mapping services (see section 4); map tiles are loaded from a map provider, which necessarily receives the area you are viewing. Your location is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes. You can delete individual walks in the App, delete everything by deleting your account, and revoke location access at any time in your device settings.
Health data (Apple Health / Health Connect)
With your explicit permission, the App may read steps, activity, energy, and weight data from Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) to keep your daily targets realistic, show your step count, and track your weight progress. This data is used only to calculate your recommendations and show your own progress. We never use health data for advertising or marketing, we never sell it, and we never share it with third parties for their own purposes. You can revoke access at any time in the Health or Health Connect settings on your device.
Subscriptions and purchases
Premium subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through your store account. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and verify entitlements; for this purpose a pseudonymous app user identifier and your purchase/transaction status are processed.
Usage, device, and diagnostic data
To keep the App reliable and to understand how it is used, we collect usage events, app version, device model, operating system version, language, and similar technical identifiers through analytics and crash/diagnostic tooling.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and personalise the App and your targets;
- To read nutrition labels and meal photos you choose to submit;
- To show the rewards map, record the walks you start, and count your steps when you use those features;
- To process and validate subscriptions and entitlements;
- To respond to your support requests and feedback;
- To analyse and improve performance, features, and reliability;
- To protect the security of the App and comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the App), based on your consent (e.g. location, health data, and analytics where required), and based on our legitimate interests in keeping the App secure and improving it. Health-related data is processed only with your explicit consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the App:
- Apple: sign-in, subscriptions, and Health (on your device);
- Google: sign-in, Google Play subscriptions, and Health Connect (on your device);
- RevenueCat: subscription and entitlement management;
- CARTO and OpenStreetMap: map tiles for the rewards map (they receive requests for the map area you view);
- OpenStreetMap Overpass API and Project OSRM: road and path data used to place rewards on real streets near the map centre (they receive approximate coordinates, not your identity);
- Google (Firebase): analytics and diagnostics;
- Google and OpenAI: vision models that read the nutrition labels and meal photos you submit; images are processed to provide the feature and are not used to train those models;
- Amazon Web Services: secure storage of media you upload;
- Railway: application hosting and databases;
- Resend: delivery of support and transactional emails.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the App.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.
6. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Edit your profile and logged data directly in the App;
- Delete your account and associated data from the App’s settings, or by contacting us at [email protected];
- Delete individual recorded walks from your walk history;
- Revoke location, health data, and notification permissions in your iOS or Android settings.
To exercise any right, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and private storage for uploaded media. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
